South Island
. It
flows
predominantly
south
from several
sources
in and close to the
eastern
edge
of the
Puketeraki Range
west
of
Waikari
,
flowing
through a
steep
gorge
in the
Okuku Range
before flowing into the
Ashley River
east
of
Oxford
.
