Northampton School for Girls


Northampton School for Girls is an 'Outstanding' girls only comprehensive secondary school with academy status, in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England.
In 2004, the school gained specialist Music College status, the first school in England to do so. This resulted in a provision of musical opportunities for both students and the local community. The school continues to be a beacon of excellence for music and performing arts and has a well-established reputation in this area. It is also home to Spinney Hill Theatre, where both NSG students and other groups regularly perform. In the past, the theatre has been used for classical music productions when work is undertaken on the Derngate theatre.

Education

All students in GCSE study English, English Literature, Mathematics, either Double Science or separate sciences, Design and Technology, a Foreign Language, Humanities, Religious Studies, ICT computer science and a Performing Arts
Students may also take up additional GCSEs if they wish, such as a language that they can speak in, read in and write in.
