It is formed by the
confluence
of the
West Branch
and the
East Branch
of
the North
River
in
the town
of
Colrain, Massachusetts
.
The river
is a
tributary
of the
Deerfield River
, joining it just
north
of
the village
of
Shelburne Falls
.
