North Atlantic Refining


North Atlantic Refining is a petroleum company based in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The company operates the Come By Chance Refinery in Come By Chance that refines of oil per day. The refinery contributes over $300M in GDP annually to the local economy.

History

The Vitol Group acquired North Atlantic Refining in 1994.
In 2006 Harvest Energy Trust purchased North Atlantic Refining and related businesses for CDN$1.6 billion from Vitol Refining Group B.V.
In 2014 North Atlantic Refining Ltd. was sold to New York merchant bank SilverRange Financial Partners for a C$97.3 million. The sale included 53 North Atlantic and Home Town branded gasoline stations, as well as convenience stores and 14 Orangestore branded locations.
On May 28 2020 Irving Oil has signed a deal to buy North Atlantic Refining Corp., including a refinery in Come By Chance, N.L., from U.S. investment firm Silverpeak.
