Noord, Suriname

The Arawak village of Bernharddorp is located in the resort. The village has grown to 1,800 tot 2,000 people, and is located on the busy Indira Gandhiweg which is gradually becoming more suburban. In 1952, the village was given an additional 214 hectares of land for agriculture. As of 2018, they have requested additional land.
