Noomanea

Noomanea is an Assyrian Christian village in Iraq in the Nineveh Governorate. It is located on the edge of the ancient town of Nimrud.
The village is known for the fact that archaeologist Austen Henry Layard once resided here during his excavations.
Noomanea was under ISIL occupation since 2014. It was recaptured by the Iraqi army on 13 November 2016 along with the nearby Nimrud ruins.
