Neeraj Dangi


Neeraj Dangi is an Indian politician from Rajasthan. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, upper house of the Parliament of India from Rajasthan in the June 2020 Rajya sabha elections as an Indian National Congress candidate.
Neeraj Dangi is son of Late Shri Dinesh Dangi, an extremely loyal congressman, ex-Minister of State, having blessings of Late Smt. Indira Gandhi and Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi.

Political life

He has been dedicatedly, actively and greedlessly associated with Congress for the last 25 years. At present, he is a General Secretary of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. He is well known for his strong eloquent speaking ability, intelligence, and abilities to mobilize public, colleagues and subordinates. He has a healthy relationship with the majority of the key leaders in the state.
He induced revolutionary change in the role of Youth Congress in Rajasthan state politics. Neeraj Dangi was the Youth Congress State President during the period 2004–2008 when Congress was in opposition. Under his leadership, Youth Congress was unparallely active and youth was motivated like never before. Countless large scale demonstrations were performed on significant public issues. Youth Congress always remained in highlights of the leading state news. Four MLA's, two ministers, one MP, two UIT chairmen, twelve office bearers of Rajasthan PCC and several others at district level posts came out of the Youth Congress Committee led by Neeraj Dangi. The work done by the Youth Congress was highly appreciated by key state leaders including the Chief Minister and the PCC Chief.
Despite having lost the Assembly elections by a negligible margin, Neeraj Dangi put continuous hard work in developing region of his constituency. As a result, developmental works of more than 4 billion were performed during Congress government in five years i.e. 2008–2013.
Neeraj Dangi belongs to Meghwal community, the largest community of Scheduled Caste in Rajasthan. In relevant constituencies, Meghwal community can make or break an election where there is not a significant difference between the two leading political parties in terms of likelihood of winning. Neeraj Dangi carries forward the influence that his father Late Shri Dinesh Dangi had on Meghwal Community in western Rajasthan and is perceived by the community as their primary leader.
Neeraj Dangi, being a civil engineer from a reputed college, stands apart from many politicians when it comes to education.

Personal life

Neeraj Dangi was born on 4 February 1970 to Sh. Dinesh Dangi and Briju Devi Dangi in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
