Neemat Frem


Neemat Georges Frem is a Lebanese businessman and politician. On 6 May 2018, he was elected member of the parliament of Lebanon after winning a seat in Byblos and Keserwan constituency. Frem is the president of the National Economy, Trade, Industry and Planning Committee.
Neemat Frem is also the chief executive of the multinational company INDEVCO Group, founder and president of Phoenix Machinery and former president of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists. He served as the president of The Maronite Foundation in the World from 2016 to 2018. In 2013, he launched "A Better Lebanon" initiative, generating public policies by empowering national public, private and civil society institutions as an attempt for restructuring change in the Lebanese continuous political crisis.

Education

Neemat Frem was born on 10 September 1967 in Jounieh, Keserwan of Lebanon. He is the son of George Frem, founder of the Indevco Group.
He completed school at Collège Saint Joseph – Antoura, and graduated from the American University of Beirut with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1991. He then completed a postgraduate diploma on leadership and business from Harvard University Business School, Georgetown University Business School and Stanford University Business School.

Career

In 1997, after accepting to work for the family business Indevco Group, he launched Phoenix Machinery, a plan to bridge the traditional activities of Indevco with the technology industry.
Neemat Frem was elected as the President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists in 2010 and served till 2014. He was also president of the Foundation of the Lebanese Diaspora.
Neemat Frem also served as the CEO of Interstate Resources, Inc. Inc.
In January 2013, Frem launched Loubnan El Afdal, a national initiative to structure change in the Lebanese continuous political crisis.
In 2018, Frem announced his candidacy for the Lebanese General Election, running for the Maronite seat in the Keserwan and Byblos constituency as a member of the “Strong Lebanon” bloc. Following the general election held on 6 May 2018, he was officially announced as a winning candidate with the highest number of votes. He also serves as the president and chief executive officer of INDEVCO Group.

Other mandates

Neemat Frem holds one US and one Europe patent. The patent is for an automated sandwich-making dispenser that can serve up to 11 different fresh ingredients on a French baguette.
In 2017, he financed the launch of the Olive Grove, a new cluster of tech startups in Hamra, Beirut.
