Nawfija


Nawfija also written as Nawfijah is an Igbo town located in southeastern Nigeria. It is under the Orumba South Local Government Area council in Anambra State. The town of Nawfija had an estimated population of 100,000 as at 2006. Nawfija town shares boundaries in the West by Akpu and Amagu; in the East by Isulo and Ezira; in the North by Ajalli and Ufuma; while in the South by Umueji,Ufuma.

Villages

The town is made up seven major villages namely: Amokwu, Ezeome, Ohukabia, Umuawahi, Umuezeiyi, Umuezeogbu, and Umuoma.

Landmark

Nawfija is serviced by a number of amenities such as a health center, a secondary and primary school and a number of Anglican and Catholic Churches. Nawfija is also home to very successful and educated Nigerians who can be found anywhere in the world. The former Executive Director of Engineering Services, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Engr. Lawrence Adimonye hails from Amokwu, Nawfija.
