National Film Awards (Nepal)
The National Film Awards is the most prominent and prestigious award of Nepali cinema in the presence of Head of Nation. In, 2005, it was started with the first National Film Award, in the presence of His Majesty's King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah. The event is held at the residence of the president of Nepal and the president gives the awards to the winners in various categories. It is yearly organised by Film Development Board, Nepal.

The National Film Award 2008 was distributed on 1 July 2008. The awards were handed over by present prime minister Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda with legendary Indian actor Mala Sinha. The award was organized by the Film Development Board of Nepal.
