Nathassia


Nathassia Devine is a Dutch-born singer, songwriter and electronic music artist currently residing in London, UK. She has been described, by Eddie Gordon, as "The new face of dance culture" and "This generation's Kate Bush". In April 2016, Nathassia made history as being the first electronic music artist to perform at Valley of the Kings in Luxor Temple, Egypt at the Nefertiti International Fashion Festival. In August 2016, Nathassia was featured on the Channel 4 TV show The Casting Couch.
Being half Dutch & half Indian, she emanates a rare & mesmerising quality described by The Yorkshire Times as "impossible to define in just a few words". Described by T.H.E. Music Essentials as "An artist unlike any other" and "One of the most creative artists of the past few years" by , her music and live performances bring together both eastern and western cultures in spellbinding style. Mauritius Times said about Nathassia: “She is a role model for multiculturalism”.
Her first big break out single was "Turning Headz" and Nathassia's debut studio album, was released on the 30th of March 2017 by . Nathassia co-produced the album with some of the UK’s leading underground electronic music producers including British Dubstep producer Stenchman and chose to write several songs with Grammy award winning writer/producer Bruce Elliott-Smith. The first two singles that were released from the album including "Contagious", gained support from the likes of e.g. Eddy Temple Morris, BBC 6, Kiss and Mixmag.
Multi-million selling Universal A&R Eddie Gordon described the album Light Of The World as "Unique song creations that show a connection to something much higher than the normal mind", American music magazine said about the album: "Light Of The World is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard in my life, period!" and critically acclaimed writer Christopher Nosnibor said "Light Of The World stands as a truly multidimensional piece." The last single released and title track "Light of the World" was described by DJ Mag as “A rare broken beat number”.
In May 2017 Nathassia commenced her first national UK tour called . The show was themed as a spellbinding journey, bringing the past back to life then transporting you into the future and covered the subjects from 3D to singularity, paganism to transhumanism, Egypt to nanotech & third eye to A.I.
In February 2018 Nathassia launched , and the first episode of The Nathassia Devine Show.
On Summer Solstice day 21 June 2018, Nathassia released her second album produced with renowned downtempo artist/DJ . The album reached the Top 5 in the UK iTunes Album Chart and was described by critics as "a truly unique project" and "totally uncompromising in its global appeal". The debut single released from the album "Is Everybody Searching" reached the number 10 position in the UK pop chart.
Her single “Goddess”, mixed by and written & Co-Produced by Nathassia, was released on 19 April 2019 by and reached the Top 10 in the UK Club Charts & Commercial Pop. It was described by as "Incredibly catchy" and by as "a unique gem that shines like gold as it finds its way inside your head".

Early life

Born and raised in Gouda with a Dutch father and Indian mother she grew up absorbing many multicultural musical influences. In an interview on Surinamese TV Nathassia said that she first started practicing her stage performance at age 2 when her father brought home an old microphone from a coach for her to play with. As part of her studies International Music Management in Haarlem, she moved to London to gain experience in the music business. Having tasted global success as a featured artist including A List on UK & Dutch national radio with the likes of Soulcast & Russia’s leading electronic duo Moonbeam, Nathassia wanted to forge her own style & sound. After completing her studies in The Netherlands, she set up her recording studio's in south London solely to write and record her debut album.
