Nassauvia serpens


Nassauvia serpens is a species of plant in the family Asteraceae. It is endemic to the Falkland Islands, South America. This plants is commonly known to have a "chocolate scent", being closely related to Calopappus. Its natural habitats are temperate shrublandcommonly found on level ground hill summits and rocky areas. As a result this species is threatened by habitat loss due to genetic erosion. This species is known to only have fewer than 250 mature individuals, all stemming up to 5 feet.
