Nanda Devi AC Express


The 12401/02 Kota Junction - Dehradun Nanda Devi Superfast AC Express train belonging to Indian Railways that runs between Kota Junction & Dehradun in India. It is a daily service. It operates as train number 12401 from Kota Junction to Dehradun and as train number 12402 in the reverse direction. At first it ran between New Delhi & Dehradun as train number 12205 & 06. From 26 August 2019 it had been extended up to Kota Junction and it won't touch New Delhi, instead it stops at Hazrat Nizamuddin and runs with same route from Ghaziabad Junction to Dehradun.

It is a daily train & covers the distance of 763 kilometres in 11 hours 45 minutes as 12401 Kota Junction Dehradun Nanda Devi AC Express and in 5 hours 55 minutes as 12402 Dehradun Kota Junction Nanda Devi AC Express. It has a Superfast surcharge even though it averages well below.

Traction

When it was introduced, it was hauled end to end by a WDM 2 / WDM 3A engine from the Tughlakabad shed. Due to progressive electrification, it is now hauled end to end by a WAP-5 engine from the Ghaziabad shed.

Operation

12401 Kota Junction Dehradun Nanda Devi AC Express leaves Kota Junction on a daily basis at 17:55 hrs and reaches Dehradun the next day at 05:40 hrs.
12402 Dehradun Kota Junction Nanda Devi AC Express leaves Dehradun on a daily basis at 22:50 hrs and reaches Kota Junction the next day at 10:35 hrs.
From 25 August 2019, it operate as 12401 / 12402 Dehradun Kota Nanda Devi AC Express with stoppage at Hazrat Nizamuddin instead of New Delhi. Before that, it used to run between Dehradun & New Delhi as 12205/06.
