History

Namakkal Transport Carriers was founded by K.Chandramohan, Raajasundaram, N.Thillaiarasan and S.Muthusamy in 1997. It was incorporated as Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt. Ltd. in 2001. Initially the company focused on transporting Over Dimensional Consignments.

Wind Sector

In 2004, NEG Micon Pvt. Ltd. commissioned a 1.65-MW windmill in Kongalnagaram near Coimbatore.

Chennai Metro

In 2013, Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt. Ltd. was awarded the contract to ship the Chennai Metro Coaches from the Alstom unit in Sao Paulo, Brazil to the Chennai Port and subsequently transport them in hydraulic axles to the Koyambedu depot. The first batch of trains arrived in the Chennai Port Trust on May 31, 2013 and were unloaded at the Koyambedu depot on June 7, 2013.

Sreevari Engineers was established in April 2006. The company specializes in design, manufacture, engineering and erection services for the High Pressure boiler auxiliaries like Rotary Regenerative Air Preheater, Tubular Air Preheater, Electrostatic precipitators & heat transfer equipments.

NTC Logistics

NTC Logistics Pvt. Ltd., a sister concern of Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 2008. NTC Logistics is engaged in freight forwarding services including air freight, sea freight, road transport and has CHA licenses to facilitate inbound and outbound shipment services. NTC has a joint venture with VGC –Vasco Gallega, Spain, a logistics provider in the European, South American and African countries. NTC Logistics is accredited with, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications. The company is a member of IATA, FIATA, MTO and FFFAI.

NTC Institute of Driver Training and Research

NTC College of Transport Education was established in 2011 for providing technical education including heavy vehicle license training. The college, situated at Namakkal was inaugurated by then Revenue Minister of Tamil Nadu, P. Thangamani.
