Muneeb Ali


Muneeb Ali is a Pakistani-American computer scientist and internet entrepreneur. Muneeb is a co-founder of Blockstack, a crytocurrency project for decentralized applications. He serves as the CEO of Blockstack PBC, a New York City-based technology startup that is building core protocols and developer tools for the Stacks cryptocurrency. He is known for the first SEC-qualified offering for a cryptocurrency and for his doctoral dissertation which formed the basis of the Blockstack project. Muneeb is a main character in George Gilder's book Life After Google, was a technical advisor to the HBO Silicon Valley show, and appeared in the Prime Video Rizqi Presents: Blockchain show.

Career

Muneeb studied Computer Science at LUMS and received his PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2017. Muneeb co-founded Blockstack in 2013 with Ryan Shea and went through Y Combinator in 2014. His work mainly focused on sensor networks, blockchains, and cloud computing. He serves as the CEO of Blockstack PBC.
