Multimatic DSSV™

The company's patented Multimatic DSSV damping technology has a proven performance record in race, road and off-road applications. DSSV dampers are characterized by the use of spool valves in place of conventional flexible shims. Primary among benefits cited in the 2010 patent filing is the elimination of performance ambiguity associated with flexible shims, resulting in mathematically predictable, repeatable, and robust pressure-flow characteristics. Multimatic also claims damper-to-damper manufacturing variance within two percent in the case of their hand-built racing dampers, as compared to contemporary industry variance of up to twelve percent for shim dampers.
Following the design's initial success with Newman/Haas Racing's title-winning 2002 CART season, Multimatic DSSV dampers have been series-mandated as the official damper of the Champ Car Atlantic Series in 2006-2007, the U.S. F2000 National Championship from 2011, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft from 2012, Indy Lights from 2015; the GT500 class of Japan’s Super GT series, Mazda MX-5 Cup from 2016, and the Pro Mazda Championship from 2018. DSSV dampers were also supplied for Red Bull Racing's four consecutive Formula One titles from 2010-2013, and have equipped nearly half the field at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Road car DSSV applications include the Aston Martin One-77, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Aston Martin Vulcan, Mercedes-AMG GT, 2017+ Ford GT, Chevrolet Colorado ZR2,, 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE., Ferrari SF90 Stradale "Assetto Fiorano" spec and Lotus Evija.
