Muhammad Khan Daha


Muhammad Khan Daha is a Pakistani politician and an agriculturist from District Khanewal, Punjab.

Early life

He belongs to a Political Daha Family and was born to Mr. Haji Irfan Ahmad Khan.
Basically, The Daha Rajputs are the earliest settlers of Khanewal, therefore the name of Khanewal is due to "Daha Rajput" family because they used ‘Khan’ in their names. Khanewal is named after the earliest settlers here who belonged to the caste "Daha Rajput" caste and used ‘Khan’ in their names. That is how the city came to be known as ‘khan-e-wal’.
He attended Aitchison College and then International School of Choueifet, Lahore. He did his B.Sc in Business Administration from Mountain State University based in Beckley, West Virginia, United States.

Political career

He ran for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League from Constituency NA-157 in 2008 Pakistani general election but was unsuccessful. He received 58,231 votes and lost the seat to Hamid Yar Hiraj.
He was elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-157 in 2013 Pakistani general election.
He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-151 in 2018 Pakistani general election. He received 96,162 votes and defeated Hamid Yar Hiraj
His father Mr. Haji Irfan Ahmad Khan Daha an agriculturist and an politician who served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for four consecutive terms during 1988–90, 1990–93, 1993–96, 1997-98 and also functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Finance during 1990-93 and as Minister for Transport during 1997–98.
His grand father, Major Aftab Ahmad Khan Daha remained Member of National Assembly for four consecutive terms during 1988–90, 1990–93, 1993–96 and 1997–99 and also functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Information.
His cousin Taimur Khan Daha son of Haji Rizwan Ahmad Khan Daha served as Vice-Chairman Zila Council Khanewal from January 2017-May 2019.
