Moorends


Moorends is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, on the border with Lincolnshire. It was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. It is part of the civil parish of Thorne, which lies to the south.
Moorends is located at approximately, at an elevation of around 3 metres above sea level.
The legendary goalkeeper Ted Sagar was born in Moorends in 1910.
It is also home to one pub, and it is referred to as the gateway to the moors, with Grange Road offering access to the Humberhead Levels National Nature Reserve
