On February 6, 2010, Fuentés won a ten-round unanimous decision over Mexican Eduardo González to capture the interim WBC Youth World Minimumweight title, the bout was held at the Complejo Panamericano, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.WBO minimumweight champion
