Mohammed Ali Abdallah


Mohammed Ali Abdallah Addarrat is a Libyan political activist.

Background

He is the second of seven children to Ali Abdallah Addarrat & Fatima Senoussi. Migrated at a young age with his father lived in exile for 29 years. Graduated from Lafayette High School - Lexington, KY USA, Studied Physical Therapy, Telecommunications & Data Management, Business Management in the University of Kentucky.
Married to Halema Mohamed Aduib in 2000, has 4 children Ali, Fatima, Arwa, Omar Al-Mukhtar. Studied & lived in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, and spent a large part of his professional career working on global projects.

Student Movement

Ali Abdallah became a leader within the Libyan Student Movement in exile, served in the Executive Committee of The General Union for the Students of Libya from 1992 to 1997. Edited the GUSL magazine "Martyrs of Libya" during the '90s.

Political Activist

Addarrat joined the National Front for the Salvation of Libya at a very young age in exile, and became one of its young protégés. Worked as part of Al-Inqad magazine publishing team, as well as part of the Radio Broadcasting team, and member of a musical group that produced patriotic songs about Libya. Appointed to the NFSL's Permanent Bureau in 2002, and later to its Executive Committee in 2004.
He was elected as the Deputy Secretary General of the NFSL in 2007, serving with Mr. Ibrahim Sahad.
He was responsible for the NFSL's operations inside Libya from 2004 until the 2011 Libyan civil war.
He was media representative for the group.
Addarrat served a 2 year term in the inaugural General National Congress of Libya 2012-2014, and served as the Chairman of the Financial Planning, Budget, and Finance oversight sub-committee. He was the President of the National Front Party from 2012 - 2017.

Professional career

Joined Lexmark International in 1997, a Fortune 500 US based IT corporation that produces printing technology & solutions. Worked within its Information Technology group until 2005, before participating in the setup of Lexmark's subsidiary in the Middle East in 2006. Was promoted to the post of General Manager for Lexmark International Middle East in 2009, and held that role until January 2012.
Held several political leadership & professional consultative roles between 2012-2017. Currently is serving as a Sales Executive with a global technology corporation.
