Mohammadin Ketapi


Mohamaddin bin Ketapi is a Malaysian politician. He served as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture in the Pakatan Harapan administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to its implosion due to the Sheraton Move in February 2020. He has been the Member of Parliament for Silam from 2018 to 2019 and for Lahad Datu since 2019.

Political career

Mohammadin supports the curfew that was imposed in eastern Sabah to combat the rampant cross border crimes perpetrated by bandits from the neighbouring southern Philippines.

Elections

2018 general election

In the 2018 election, Sabah Heritage Party fielded him to contest the Silam parliamentary seat, facing the incumbent candidate Nasrun Mansur from the United Malays National Organisation and subsequently won.
