Miron Itzhak


Itzhak Miron is a psychologist who works at his psychology institute in Piatra Neamţ, Romania.

Biography

Miron was born in Haifa, Israel. At the age of 4, he moved with his parents in São Paulo, Brazil, and lived there for 4 years. At the age of 9, his parents divorced and Itzhak, his mother and his sister returned to Israel.
After graduating high school, Miron served 3 years in the army. In 1975, he joined the Faculty of Sociology and History at Bar-Ilan University to study psychology, sociology, criminology and anthropology. During his studies, he published numerous articles and stories for children. Between 1980 and 1984, during his master's degree studies, he worked in a psychiatric hospital, particularly with street children.
In 1984, Miron was hired as chief of Mental Health Issues in the Israeli Army. He then worked in the Israeli Ministry of Health. In 1993 he opened a private center of psychological and social assistance.
In 1995, Miron enrolled in a PhD program at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iaşi. He received his doctorate in 1999 and opened Institute Miron in Piatra Neamţ. During more than 20 years in Neamţ County, Miron has treated thousands of patients, participated in TV shows and written many articles. He is also a trainer in Ericksonian psychotherapy and supervises young psychologists. Since 2014, he has been a main clinical psychologist in the psychiatry department of Municipal Hospital of Roman.

Personal life

Miron and his first wife divorced. They had three daughters. He is now married to Dr. Mihaela Irimia; they have one daughter together.
