Minnesota Freedom Band

The Minnesota Freedom Band is a non-profit concert and marching band for the LGBT community based in Minneapolis. Founded by Tom Valach in 1982 to play in the parade for Twin Cities Pride, it has performed at many public events, including playing The Star-Spangled Banner for the St. Paul Saints, leading a procession after the signing ceremony for the bill legalizing same-sex marriage in Minnesota, and marching in presidential inauguration parades. It is a founding member of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association.
