Minister of Environment and Climate Change


The Minister of Environment and Climate Change is the minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet who is responsible for overseeing Environment and Climate Change Canada, the environmental department of the Government of Canada. As well, the minister is also responsible for overseeing Parks Canada and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.
Notable environment ministers of the past have included Jack Davis, Roméo LeBlanc, Jean Charest, Stéphane Dion, Sheila Copps, David Anderson and Peter Kent.
The position was known as simply the Minister of the Environment until 2015, when the position was given its current name upon the creation of the 29th Canadian Ministry.
