Michael Alexander (academic)


Michael Scott Alexander is an associate professor in the religious studies department of the University of California, Riverside.
He attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and received his PhD in 1999 from Yale University, where he was a founding member of Shabtai.
After receiving his doctorate, he served as Assistant Professor of History and Jewish Studies at the University of Oklahoma. He is a former Murray Friedman Associate Professor of Modern Jewish History at Temple University in Philadelphia, and former Director of the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History.
