Mercy Chinwo


Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel musician, singer and songwriter.
Winner of the Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012, She has been signed to Eezee Conceptz record label since 2017.

Life and career

was born on 5 September 1990 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. She is the fourth child in a family of five. Chinwo got involved in music at a very early age, being a member of the children's choir in her church and transitioning to the adult choir prior to launching her musical career.
She started her musical career by lending her vocals to several renowned music artists.
Mercy Chinwo released her first single, "Testimony", in 2015, and "Igwe" a year later.
In 2017, Mercy Chinwo signed to Gospel Music Label EeZee Conceptz.

Acting

A year after winning Nigerian Idol, she landed her first film role in Yvonne Nelson's film, House of Gold starring alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel and Omawumi among others.

Achievements

In 2018, Mercy Chinwo was awarded the Best Gospel Artiste at the CLIMAX Awards 2018.
In 2019, at the maiden edition of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival Mercy Chinwo was named winner in three categories namely Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year and Africa Gospel Song of the Year. Notably, the categories she won contained the likes of Sinach, Prospa Ochimana and Tim Godfrey.
