Meet the Family (TV series)


Meet the Family is a Canadian scripted, hidden camera sitcom based on the UK format Meet the Parents. In each episode, a boyfriend in a new relationship is brought "home" to meet his girlfriend's family, unaware that they're all played by actors or that the house is filled with 30 hidden cameras.
The series premiered at 8:30pm on Sunday, September 29, 2013 on City in Canada.
In Season 1, Meet the Family had a regular cast of comedic actors who played the family members. They included:
Terry C. Barna as the Dad.
Liz Best as the Mom.
Hannah Hogan as the Sister.
Jason DeRosse as the Brother.
CityTV renewed the series for a second season which premiered on Saturday, September 13, 2014 and concluded February 21, 2015. The Season 2 cast is much larger and rotates each episode so that no two families are ever the same.

Season 2 also featured a crossover episode with another City-TV series, The Bachelor Canada. In it, Tim Warmels shows up at the house with roses, introducing himself to the real life boyfriend and trying to get inside. But the boyfriend does not recognize him, is dismissive of the show The Bachelor, and tries to physically remove Warmels from the property.
