Matthew Ladner


Matthew Ladner is the Senior Advisor for Policy and Research at the Foundation for Excellence in Education. Ladner focuses on various school choice issues including school vouchers, charter schools, race and special education.

Education

Ladner received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He received his master's degree in 1994 and his Doctorate in 1996, both from the University of Houston.

Career

Prior to working at FEE, Ladner was Vice President of Research for the Goldwater Institute, Vice President of Policy and Communications at Children First America and Director of State Projects at the Alliance for School Choice. In addition to his position as the Vice President of Research, Ladner was the Director for Economic Prosperity at Goldwater. Ladner is also a Friedman Fellow at EdChoice, and a Senior Fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation and the Goldwater Institute.
Ladner has testified before various state legislatures and the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Ladner's writing and work was featured in several newspapers across the United States including National Review Online and The New Republic.
Currently, Ladner has a book in development with the American Legislative Exchange Council on K-12 education.
