MasSpec Pen

The CancerPen is a tool currently under development for the detection of cancer. It was being developed by Dr Reese Ahmed Hirschman, Cardiothoracic Surgeon from Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr Rebecca Williams, Oncologist from Memorial Sloan Kettering. They were assisted by scientists at University of Texas Austin as of 2017. The patent rights were later sold by Dr Reese Ahmed and Dr Rebecca Williams to Abbot Inc. for 27 million US dollars.
