Martin Scott Field


Martin Scott Field is the eighth and current Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri. He was ordained and consecrated as Bishop on March 5, 2011. He is married to Donna Jean Cassarino Field, and the couple has two children: Chandra and Christopher. Bishop Field served churches in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Maryland, before entering the Chaplain Corps of the U.S. Navy. He served in Hawaii and Tennessee while on active duty and participated in several overseas deployments including Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Southern Watch. After naval chaplaincy, he served parishes in Tennessee and Michigan before being elected the 8th Bishop of West Missouri in November 2010. He was ordained into ministry in the Christian Church on June 6, 1983 after graduating from the Lexington Theological Seminary in May of that same year with his Master of Divinity degree. His ministry was translated into the Holy Orders of the Episcopal Church when he was ordained a Deacon on October 10, 1990 in the Diocese of Hawaii. He was ordained a priest in Hawaii on May 2, 1991. He did doctoral studies at the Seabury Institute of Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL from 2004 through 2006.
