Chanute Martin Johnson Airport


Chanute Martin Johnson Airport is a city-owned airport two miles southwest of Chanute, in Neosho County, Kansas. It is named for Martin Johnson, of the husband-and-wife explorers Martin and Osa Johnson, although it was Osa and not Martin who was native to Chanute.

Facilities

The airport covers and has two runways: 18/36 is 4,255 x 75 ft asphalt and 8/26 is 2,200 x 135 ft turf.
In the year ending September 1, 2005 the airport had 18,560 aircraft operations, average 50 per day: 99.7% general aviation and <0.3% military. 24 aircraft were then based at the airport: 75% single-engine, 8% multi-engine, 4% helicopter and 13% ultralight.
