Mardela Middle and High School


Mardela Middle and High School is a seven-year public middle school / high school in Mardela Springs, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is one of four public high schools in Wicomico County, along with James M. Bennett High School, Wicomico High School and Parkside High School.

Overview

The school is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the town of Mardela Springs in Wicomico County. The school is on Maryland Route 54, east of Maryland Route 313 and just north of U.S. 50. Mardela Springs is between the Eastern Shore towns of Vienna and Hebron.
The current school building was constructed between the years of 1978 and 1980, on the same site as the previous school which was built in 1937. The current building has of space and is located on of land.

Students

Mardela's high graduation rate has been fairly steady over the past 12 years. In 2007, the school graduated 90.48%, up from 77.88% in 2002.
The school population has been steadily increasing. In 2007 the school was near its 12-year high enrollment with 704 students, two less than were enrolled in 2006. The school has nearly 70% more students than in 1993.
