• Thomas Marchioro, Physician, Pioneering Kidney Transplant Surgeon, UW Professor. Dr. Marchioro was the oldest son of Americo Marchioro and Gertrude O'Dennehy, who produced 8 offspring prior to her untimely death in 1940 or 1941. Dr. Marchioro's wife, Karen was a lawyer and proactive in the Pacific NorthWest's Democratic Party, and rumored to have been one of three who selected John Edwards as John Kerry's 2004 Presidential Campaign. Dr. Marchioro is one of nine children of Americo including a half-sister from his second marriage.
