Malik clan (Bihar)
The Malik are a Muslim community found in the state of Bihar in India. They are considered to be an ashraf community among Bihari Muslims meaning that they have high social status. They are mainly concentrated around Nalanda and Bihar Sharif.
The Maliks of Bihar claim descent from the Sufi saint-warrior, Malik Ibrahim Bayu who defeated the Kol chieftains of South Bihar.
