Mala Pareshan

Mala Pareshan also Parishan-e Lur is the pen name of the Kurdish poet Mohammad Abulqasim, one of the first Kurdish poets to write his Diwan in Kurdish.

Life

He was born in the city of Dinawar around the year 1356. Mala Pareshan was a Sufi and a member of Hurufism.
He was a friend and disciple of Sheikh Rajab Bursi, a 14th-century mystic Hurufism leader.

Poetry

His Diwan was first printed in Kermanshah in 1916 and then it was printed several times later in different places. His poems have a syllabic meter, a common characteristic of Gorani or Hawrami poetry. Most of his poetry is in Kurdish, specifically in Gorani dialects. Noted 20th-century classical musician Seyed Khalil Alinezhad used Mala Pareshan's poetry in his music.
