Mahima Makwana


Mahima Makwana is an Indian television actress who started her career with the role of Gauri in Balika Vadhu and became a household name playing the role of Rachna in Zee TV's programme Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. and Anami Baldev Singh in Rishton Ka Chakravyuh on Star Plus.She was then seen in Mariam Khan - Reporting Live. Her other notable works include Imagine TV's Sawaare Sabke Sapne... Preeto and &TV's show Adhuri Kahaani Hamari. Currently, Makwana is portraying Rani Dave Reshmaiyma in Shubharambh.

Biography

Makwana was born on 5 August 1999 in Dahisar outside Mumbai.
Makwana's father, a construction worker, died when she was five-months-old. She and her elder brother were brought up by her mother, a former social worker who now acts as Makwana's agent. Makwana went to Mary Immaculate Girls' High School. She started acting at the age of 13. Presently she is studying at Thakur College of Science and Commerce Kandivali, Mumbai
As of 2017, she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mass media.

Career

Makwana started auditioning for acting parts at the age of 10, and appeared in a few commercials. Her television debut was in Mohe Rang De on Colors TV. In 2009 she played the role of Gudiya/Gauri in the Colors TV show Balika Vadhu, and she also appeared in CID, Aahat, Miley Jab Hum Tum and Jhansi Ki Rani.
Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she was cast as the lead in Imagine TV's Sawaare Sabke Sapne... Preeto. She then played the lead in the popular Zee TV soap opera Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. Mahima said in an interview that reaching this point in her career was not easy and that she had participated in more than 500 auditions prior to Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.
After Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Makawana played the lead in Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane, and then appeared in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari.
In 2015, she appeared in episodic role in Zing's youth show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya as Mandira opposite Nikhil Chaddha.
In 2017, she played the lead anami baldev singh in the Star Plus show Rishton Ka Chakravyuh.
In 2018, she played the female lead in the Star Plus show Mariam Khan - Reporting Live.
As of 2019 she is seen in Colors TV's Shubharambh as Rani dave reshmaiya.
In 2019 She appeared in the short film titled Take 2 as Natasha which was officially selected and premiered at 10th Jagran Film Festival 2019, 10th Zumba film festival and won 'BEST FOREIGN FILM', The Real time film festival, Nigeria, 2020 and won 'best festival themed film' and also premiered at Asian Film Festival, Los Angels, Hollywood.
