Louis le Grange


Louis le Grange was a lawyer, a South African politician and a member of the National Party.

Political career

Le Grange was born in Ladybrand in the Orange Free State of South Africa. He was a member of the National Party, Member of Parliament for the constituency of Potchefstroom, Deputy Minister of Information, Interior, Immigration, and Public Works, in governments of John Vorster.
He then served as Minister of Tourism and Public Works, Prisons, Police and Law and Order in the cabinets of P.W. Botha, before he became the 13th Speaker of the House of Assembly of South Africa.
He died of a fatal heart attack in Potchefstroom, aged 63.
