Loreto College, Manchester

Loreto College is a Roman Catholic sixth form college in Hulme, Manchester. The key values derive from the educational philosophy of Mary Ward, a 16th-century Englishwoman, who founded the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the congregation of religious sisters who started the college in 1851.
During Ofsted's inspection in 2006, Loreto was adjudged to be "outstanding in every respect" with a Grade 1 rating in all the inspection criteria. This was repeated in 2009. As of 2019 this remains the most recent Ofsted inspection as "outstanding" rating grants exception from further full inspections other than monitoring visits.
