Long-billed woodcreeper


The long-billed woodcreeper is a species of bird in the subfamily Dendrocolaptinae of the woodcreepers. It is the only species in the monotypic genus Nasica.

Distribution and habitat

It is found in the Amazon Basin of Brazil, and Amazonian Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia; also the middle and upper Orinoco River Basin of Venezuela. It is also found in most of Guianan French Guiana bordering the northeast Amazon Basin and Brazilian state Amapá.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical swamps.
