Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002


Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia. Aivaras represented Lithuania with the song "Happy You". He finished in 23rd place with 12 points.

Before Eurovision

"Eurovizijos" dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka

The final took place on 14 February 2002 at the Palace of Sports and Culture in Vilnius. The winner was determined by the combination of votes from a jury panel, public televoting and the audience in the hall. Only the top 10 placings were announced.
At the end of March 2002, B'Avarija were disqualified because the Lithuanian version of their song - "Mes čia" was released on CD at the end of 2001. Consequently, Aivaras was declared the winner.

At Eurovision

On the night of the final Aivaras performed 24th in the running order, following Latvia. Aivaras scored 12 points placing Lithuania 23rd out of 24 entries. The Lithuanian televote gave its 12 points to winner Latvia.
