Lisa Vanderpump


Lisa Jane Vanderpump is a British restaurateur, television personality, author and former actress. She is known for her appearances on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump Rules, and ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, have owned 36 restaurants, bars and clubs in London and Los Angeles, including The Shadow Lounge, Bar Soho, SUR, Pump, Villa Blanca, Tom Tom and Lisa Vanderpump's Stonebaked Pizzeria in LA, which was opened with comedian Jim Stylus in 2017.

Early life

Lisa Vanderpump was born and raised in London, England. She was a full-time drama student by the age of nine.

Career

Entertainment

Vanderpump starred in numerous television shows and films as a child. She made her film debut in 1973's A Touch of Class, playing the daughter of Glenda Jackson's character, and also appeared in the cult horror film Killer's Moon. In the late 1970s she appeared in four episodes of the British series "Kids", a show about children taken into an assessment center in the UK. At this time she met a very young Naomi Campbell, who was also cast in the same show. Throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, Vanderpump had small roles in various episodic television programs. She appeared on the television series Silk Stalkings and as Margo Curtis on Baywatch Nights.
Vanderpump was featured in the 1980s music videos "Poison Arrow" and "Mantrap" by the band ABC and also " In The Name of Love" by the duo Naked Eyes. She was featured in the Lady Gaga music video for "G.U.Y." in March 2014.
Vanderpump debuted on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010 and is an original cast member of the show. In 2019, she announced her departure from the show after nine seasons. In 2011, she was part of CNN's coverage of the Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. In 2013, she was featured in a spin-off of the program, Vanderpump Rules, which focuses on the staff of her West Hollywood restaurants SUR, Pump, and TomTom.
Vanderpump competed on the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars, partnered with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko. They were the second couple eliminated from the competition, leaving in tenth place.

Business

Before moving to the US, Vanderpump designed 26 of the London-based bars and restaurants that she co-owned with her husband. They own five restaurants in California. Villa Blanca is based in Beverly Hills, while Sur, the focus of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin-off Vanderpump Rules, is based in West Hollywood along with PUMP Restaurant Lounge, Lisa Vanderpump’s Stonebaked pizzería and Tom Tom. In August 2013, entrepreneurs Ryan Allen Carrillo and Andrew Gruver filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming Vanderpump and her husband as defendants and alleging breach of fiduciary duty, constructive fraud, breach of contract, and misrepresentation and deceit. Carrillo and Gruver claim the couple "unfairly snatched the West Hollywood venue" where they intended to open a gay sports bar called Bar Varsity.
Vanderpump authored Simply Divine: A Guide to Easy, Elegant, and Affordable Entertaining in 2011. She is a monthly contributing writer and editor for Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine. She released a line of homewares called The Vanderpump Beverly Hills Collection by Pop Culture Promotions on 6 November 2014.
In 2015, Vanderpump and her husband launched a line of pet accessories, Vanderpump Pets.
In October 2016, Vanderpump launched a line of emojis, titled Vandermojis. The collection, designed by Vanderpump, includes GIFs, stickers and audio messages.
In March 2017, Vanderpump was named editor-in-chief of Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine.

Philanthropy

Together with her husband, Vanderpump supports Keep Memory Alive, founded by Larry Ruvo. The organization was established to bring awareness to neurological disorders, including Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
Vanderpump was a recipient of the Ally Leadership Award from Equality California, an LGBT rights organization, in 2015.
In October 2015, Vanderpump organized a protest march against the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival. The hosted its first World Dog Day event.
In June 2019, Lisa Vanderpump, longtime supporter of The Trevor Project, recorded a PSA to ensure that LGBTQ young people know they are loved, their lives have value, and are never alone.
In July 2019, Vanderpump joined Richard Ayoub, Executive Director of Project Angel Food, to countdown to Project Angel Food's 12-millionth meal in the Project Angel Food's Hollywood kitchen.

Personal life

Vanderpump had lived in London and Cheltenham before moving to Monaco. Later, Vanderpump, along with her husband Ken Todd and children, moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2005, where they had lived briefly years before, buying a house in the gated community of Beverly Park. In 2011, the couple sold their Beverly Park house for $18.8 million and bought a $12 million house in the neighborhood of Benedict Canyon. Vanderpump and Todd also own a house in Montecito, California.
They have two children together, daughter Pandora and son Max. In 1982, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd became engaged six weeks after meeting, and married within three months.
In 2014, Vanderpump was honored with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
Vanderpump is religious and bonded with castmate Teddi over their Christian beliefs.
