Liopropoma emanueli


The Cape Verde basslet is a species of basslet in the family Serranidae. It is endemic to the Atlantic waters around Cape Verde, western Africa where it is found in rocky areas at depths of. Its length is 10 to 12 cm. It was first described by Peter Wirtz and Ulrich K. Schliewen in 2012 from a specimen found near Tarrafal in the island of Santiago. The species is named in honour of biologist Emanuel d’Oliveira.
