Lina Ng


Lina Ng is a Singaporean actress and host. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1993 to 2004 but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis. She later joined SPH MediaWorks, and left the industry after not being offered a contract following the merger with MediaCorp in 2004.

Career

Ng entered the entertainment industry after finishing 1st runner-up in the local talent-search competition Star Search 1993. Other contestants included Ann Kok and Ivy Lee, whom the former later revealed in 2009 that Ng was "openly competitive" during the competition. She later joined SPH MediaWorks, and left the industry after not being offered a contract following the merger with MediaCorp. Since leaving, she has made a number of cameos, most recently in the 2012 anniversary drama Joys of Life.
Ng was nominated for Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes from 1995 to 1998.
In 2017, Ng played supporting role in a drama called Have A Little Faith where she played an abusive mother to Rui En. Shortly, she played another supporting role in another drama called My Teacher Is a Thug as Bonnie Loo's mother. She went to participate in a Channel 5 production called Lion Mums 2.
In 2018, she is involved in a toggle original drama series Close Your Eyes with casts like Edwin Goh.

Personal life

Ng married Mike Lam, a PE teacher, on 9 September 2004 and they have three sons. She taught for three years in a pre-school before quitting, and now runs a Mandarin enrichment company with former actress Evelyn Tan.
