Liang Eng Hwa
Liang Eng Hwa is politician from the People's Action Party who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bukit Panjang SMC since July 2020. He was the MP for Holland–Bukit Timah GRC from May 2006 to June 2020. He is a Buddhist.Education
Liang attended Bukit Panjang English School and Anderson Secondary School. He completed a Diploma in Civil Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic in 1984. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, obtaining First Class Honours.Political career
Liang started serving as an MP in 2006 after a walkover victory in the Singapore 2006 General Election as one of five members of the Group Representation Constituency. He was the MP in charge of Zhenghua district within the GRC during his first term. In 2011, he contested again representing the team from the PAP which was led by Minister Vivian Balakrishnan together with Christopher de Souza and Sim Ann in a reduced-size Holland–Bukit Timah GRC. They faced heavy challenges from Team-A of the Singapore Democratic Party which was represented by Ang Yong Guan, Tan Jee Say, Michelle Lee and Vincent Wijeysingha. The PAP team managed to win 60.1% of the votes against their rookie competitors. Liang was officially declared as an MP for his second term on 9 May 2011.Other notable appointments held
