Leucodelphinidin


Leucodelphinidin is a colorless chemical compound related to leucoanthocyanidins. It can be found in Acacia auriculiformis, in the bark of Karada and in the kino from Eucalyptus pilularis.
Other species containing leucodelphinidin include Aesculus hippocastanum, Arachis hypogaea, Arbutus unedo, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Ceratonia siliqua, Hamamelis virginiana, Hippophae rhamnoides, Humulus lupulus, Musa acuminata × balbisiana, Nelumbo nucifera, Phyllanthus emblica, Quercus alba, Quercus robur, Rumex hymenosepalus, Schinus molle and Vicia faba.
A leucodelphinidin derivative isolated from Ficus bengalensis shows hypoglycemic effects.

Metabolism

uses dihydromyricetin NADPH and 2 H+ to produce leucodelphinidin and NADP.
