Lauren Robel


Lauren Robel is the Val Nolan Professor of Law, Provost and Executive Vice President at Indiana University.

Biography

Lauren Robel received her B.A. from Auburn University in 1978 and graduated with a J.D. from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University in 1983. She has been Provost and Vice President since 2012. Prior to her appointment, she was the Dean of the Maurer School of Law from 2003–2011. She has spearheaded a campaign to reinvigorate academic programs across the university in anticipation of the 2020 Bicentennial. These plans include a new School of Art and Design, a new program in engineering, and the integration of health sciences in a new on campus Academic Health Center. The New Academic Directions project has received attention from sources such as HuffPost. She is also a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
