Lamont, Wisconsin


Lamont is a town in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 267 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Lamont is located in the town.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 19.9 square miles, all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 267 people, 94 households, and 76 families residing in the town. The population density was 13.4 people per square mile. There were 102 housing units at an average density of 5.1 per square mile. The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.75% of the population.
There were 94 households, out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.4% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.1% were non-families. 12.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.14.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 26.6% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 years of age or older.
