Lafayette City Marshal (Louisiana)


The Office of Marshal of the City Court of Lafayette is the marshal service in the City of Lafayette, Louisiana. The marshal is in charge of serving warrants issued by the City Court of Lafayette.
In December 2014, former deputy marshal Brian Pope was elected to the office of city marshal, succeeding long-time incumbent Earl "Nickey" Picard, who had held the position of Lafayette city marshal since 1984.
In October 2018, Brian Pope was convicted of several felony charges and removed from office. Former Marshal Pope still faces 7 additional felony charges with more charges pending.
