La Côte International School


La Côte International School is an international school in Aubonne, Switzerland. The school is a part of the Nord Anglia Education network and serves ages 2–18. In 2017, it had over 330 students and over 40 teachers.

Accreditation

LCIS's secondary education is not approved as a Mittelschule/Collège/Liceo by the Swiss Federal State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.

History

The school was initially established in Mont-sur-Rolle in September 2008. It began with seven staff members and 42 children. The following year the school moved to a new location, in Vich, near Gland. It was once a part of the Montreux-based Riviera School network, which included Riviera, La Côte, and the International School of Monts-de-Corsier.
In September 2011, La Côte International School became part of the Nord Anglia Education group of premium schools, which in October 2017 counted 46 international schools.
In 2014 the school moved to a brand new purpose-built campus in Aubonne.
The current campus in Aubonne opened in September 2014.

Academic programme

The academic programme at the school is built on the English National Curriculum in the early and primary years and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes in the secondary section, as well as a bilingual Swiss Maturité option from age 10.

Campus

La Côte International School is located in Aubonne, between Lausanne and Geneva. The new state-of-the-art campus is nestled amongst the apple orchards and vineyards of the La Côte region of French-speaking Switzerland. It offers facilities such as a fully equipped design centre, a new film and media suite, 4 modern science labs, a 250-seat theatre with multimedia centre, an 860-square-meter indoor gym and a new outdoor playing field.
