László Szapáry

Count László Szapáry de Szapár, Muraszombat et Széchy-Sziget was a Hungarian general of the Austrian Imperial Army, entered in service during the 1848 revolutions when he fought in Italy. Later he also participated in the Second Italian War of Independence, particularly in the Battle of Solferino. Szapáry played a leading role in the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1878.
He was the fourth son of Count Ferenc Szapáry and Rozália Almásy. He married Marianne on 28 April 1862. Together they had four children: Károly István László, Ferdinándina, Frigyes and Ilona.
